About this rug

Chocolate brown, softly shaded in horizontal bands, forms the field of this Ziegler, and large cream and pale gold palmettes sit on it in rows, joined by thin scrolling vines and scattered leaves. A column of bigger palmettes marks the centre line. The pale sand border repeats small rosettes and sprigs between narrow guard lines, and a dark brown edge closes the design.

Its 8 mm pile is hand-spun wool, hand-knotted in Afghanistan. The 270 × 190 cm format sits well in a sitting room of around 3.3 × 2.5 m, or across the foot end of a queen bed with roughly 60 cm of rug visible either side. Other colourways are among our chobi and Ziegler rugs.
