About this rug

Rust brown, close to terracotta, is the ground colour of this Ziegler, scattered evenly with large straw-gold rosettes and palmettes picked out in sage and grey-blue on a web of fine stems. Its straw border is unusually wide, with big palmettes linked by a scrolling vine and small touches of red, between bands of tiny flowers. A thin rust line runs round the outer edge.

Its hand-spun wool was hand-knotted in Afghanistan, and, measuring 267 × 209 cm, it is relatively broad for its length: right for a squarish lounge or study of approximately 3.3 × 2.7 m, or a four-seater dining table of 1.4 × 0.9 m with chairs. See the fine chobi range.
