About this rug

Small oval guls run down the scarlet field in five columns, each outlined in brown-black and marked inside with an ivory comb-like figure. Dark eight-armed star motifs stand between the columns, so the field reads as an even grid of ovals and stars. A deep border of dark scrolling bands and rows of red lozenges frames it on all four sides, and ivory fringe finishes both short ends.

Its brown-black and ivory guls sit in a natural wool pile 1/3 inch (8 mm) deep, hand-knotted in Afghanistan at about 80 knots per square inch. Placed across the lower end of a king bed, it reaches roughly 50 cm beyond each side of the bed. Set it against the other Bokhara rugs in our range to compare gul layouts.
