About this rug

Seven columns of small guls fill this broad red field, every gul an octagon with an ivory cross at its centre, and dark eight-pointed flowers sit between the columns. A red frame band dotted with small dark crosses separates the field from the border, where a row of red stars on a dark ground runs between narrow bands of wavy lines, and ivory fringe runs across both ends.

It was made in Afghanistan from 100% natural wool, knotted by hand. Spread across a living room near 3.5 × 2.65 m, the rug leaves a neat frame of floor. This fine-gridded piece is filed with our Bokhara rugs.
