About this rug

Sage green and ivory share this rug almost equally. A scalloped ivory oval with pointed tips fills the centre, with a lobed sage medallion at its heart, and broad sage corners surround it. Small flowers in plum, slate blue and green are scattered through the oval, the wide sage-green border repeats them in a running vine, and both ends have a short white fringe.

Its knots, tied by hand in 100% wool, were worked in Kashan, Iran. Under a six-seat table of about 180 × 90 cm, its 300 × 198 cm leaves roughly 55 to 60 cm on every side; in a lounge, allow about 3.6 × 2.6 m for this Kashan rug.
