About this rug

From a distance the field reads as plain sand-coloured texture; up close it is a tight lattice of tiny ivory rosettes and brown linking motifs, repeated edge to edge with no medallion. That calm centre is framed by camel-gold bands of small oval and diamond cartouches and by a wide brick-red border, where ivory palmettes, small paisley shapes and flower sprays stand out against the red.

This Moud is hand-knotted from a blend of wool and silk. Because the field is even all over, a coffee table or a six-seat dining table can go anywhere on it without hiding a centrepiece. Medallion designs from other towns are among our hand-knotted rugs from Persia.
