About this rug

A large star-shaped medallion, layered in slate blue, ivory and navy around a dark centre, opens out across the red field of this Najafabad, with a navy pendant above and below. Fine scrolling stems and small flowers fill the red ground. Slate-blue corner pieces edged with ivory and gold blossoms give the field a lobed outline, and a broad navy border of red and ivory palmettes sits between pale guard stripes.
