Description

Shiraz carpets are simple Persian carpets made of wool from the region. They are woven on a cotton or wool foundation with a woollen pile.
These nomadic rugs are almost always geometrical in style.
Patterns tend to be small medallions or geometric figures scattered across the rugs.
Strong reds and brown are the most typical colour of Shiraz rugs, they are extremely hard wearing and compliment wooden floors well. The average knot count of a Shiraz carpet is around 120 KPSI.
These rugs are simple but high quality rugs for an every day life.

About this rug

A small chevron striped in ivory and grey-blue sits at the heart of each medallion on this Shiraz carpet, set inside a hooked orange-red lozenge. The two medallions are black-brown hexagons with stepped orange and ivory edges, stacked on a brick-red field with orange crosses at their tips. Diagonal ladders of tiny ivory squares cross the corners, and thin orange bars stand beside the medallions. The ivory border carries hooked chevrons in orange and dark brown, and an ivory fringe closes each short end.
