About this rug

Saffron gold glows at the heart of this red rug, framed by a navy medallion with scalloped edges and a pale blue rosette at its core. The red field around it is crowded with small palmettes, blossoms and curling vines in navy, ivory, gold and blue, and navy corners with gold accents close it in. Navy returns in the main border, which carries red and ivory palmettes between thin guards of red and pale blue, with a short ivory fringe at the ends.

Weavers in Kashan, Iran, knotted it by hand in 100% wool. With 284 × 190 cm of red and navy, this Kashan rug can take a four-seat dining table and chairs, or anchor a sofa and armchairs in a sitting area of 3.4 × 2.5 m or more.
