About this rug

Three hexagonal medallions are linked end to end down the red field of this Karaja runner. Each is an ivory hexagon hatched with fine navy stripes, with a stepped red diamond at its centre, and navy sawtooth lines outline them. Little ivory star-flowers on crossed stems and navy-and-teal hooked shapes fill the spaces between, while the ivory main border carries small red, navy and khaki geometric motifs between narrow red stripes.

It is hand-knotted wool from Iran. At 346 cm long and 103 cm wide it suits a hallway about 1.25 to 1.45 m wide, an entrance passage or the side of a long bed. Narrower and longer pieces are in our Persian runner collection.
