About this rug

A navy grid divides the red field of this Afghan Turkmen rug into six compartments, two across and three down. Each one holds an eight-pointed star: a navy outline, a ring of rust-orange rosettes and a small cream flower at the heart. Tiny blossoms and butterfly-like shapes in rust, cream and navy fill every gap, and the border alternates navy octagons marked with red crosses and branching tree motifs. A short pale fringe finishes the ends.
