About this rug

Thirty small guls with orange centres, ringed in navy, sit in six rows of five on the raspberry field of this colour akche, and cornflower-blue stars with orange tips fill the spaces between them. The borders are lively: a band of curling orange scrolls, a blue band with red crosses and green hooks, a green stripe, and an ivory band slashed with dark diagonals.

This piece was made in Afghanistan from natural wool, fringed in white at each end, and its 193 × 148 cm suits a children's room, a home office or the floor beside a bed. See our colourful akche rugs.
