About this rug

A Mamluk layout in black, sand and ivory: at the centre, an octagon set inside an eight-pointed star, with a round, wheel-like medallion above and below it. Grey rectangular panels and small rosettes line up across the field, and narrow columns of stylised leaves run down both sides. The border is black, scattered with small sand rosettes, and a plain sand band separates it from the field.

Afghan knotters worked its hand-spun wool at roughly 100 knots per square inch, and the pile is near 8 mm. The 2.4 × 1.75 m size fills a room of roughly 3 × 2.35 m, or the seating area in front of a three-seater sofa. Browse the rest of our chobi collection for other geometric layouts.
