Description

This is a finely woven Kashan rug, known for its elegant symmetry and detailed floral composition. The design features a well-defined central medallion set within a densely decorated field of scrolling vines, flowers, and palmettes, all arranged with excellent balance and clarity. The drawing is refined and precise, which is characteristic of quality Kashan workshop weaving.

The colour palette is soft and sophisticated, built around a warm ivory and cream field.

About this rug

Its round medallion looks almost like lace: a circle of fine navy and taupe scrolls on the cream ground around a small dark rosette, with a crown-shaped pendant above and below. Flowering vines in slate blue, olive and rust spread from it across the field, while each corner is cut in a scalloped arc. A mushroom-taupe border of navy, rust and cream palmettes sits between ivory guards with a running vine.
