A beautiful antique Persian Bakhtiari rug featuring the traditional Zarkhah vase design. The rug is decorated with detailed panels containing Persian vases, floral arrangements, birds and animal motifs, surrounded by an elegant red floral border.

Hand knotted in Iran from 100% wool, this distinctive rug features a rich combination of turquoise, red, ivory, pink, green and golden tones. Its detailed design and antique character make it a beautiful statement piece for both classic and modern interiors.

About this rug

Two columns of compartments divide the field, and each panel is a small picture. Narrow brown and sand strips show deer and pairs of ducks beside a rosette; turquoise panels hold footed bowls and a lantern-shaped vessel among flowers; golden arches on slim columns frame hanging lamps above pairs of small ewers; and jade-green niches contain vases of flowers. Salmon-pink and sand panels of leafy sprays fill the gaps, and the sequence repeats down the rug inside a brick-red border of ivory cartouches and teal rosettes.

Its many-coloured panels are hand-knotted 100% wool from Bakhtiar, Iran. Our handmade Persian rugs include other pictorial designs.
