About this rug

Rather than a dominant medallion, this Kashan relies on a small light-blue starburst at the centre and lets the cream field do the rest, scattering fine sprays of flowers and curling stems evenly to all four sides. Slate-blue and taupe blossoms add depth without darkening the ground. The cream main border carries a light-blue vine between several pale blue guard stripes, so the whole piece reads soft and airy.
