Description

This exquisite Afghan Chobi rug is hand-knotted using the finest hand-spun wool and natural vegetable dyes, producing a beautifully soft texture and a luminous patina. Its serene aqua-teal field is adorned with elegant floral and palmette motifs, framed by a refined ivory border. The traditional Chobi design draws inspiration from 19th-century Persian Ziegler patterns, yet the fresh color palette gives it a modern appeal.

About this rug

An aqua-teal field gives this chobi its colour. Across it, large taupe and olive palmettes alternate with round, ivory-centred blossoms, joined by fine pale vines and set out in mirrored rows along a central axis, with no medallion. A wide ivory border with taupe and brown palmettes on a running vine frames the teal, edged by narrow taupe stripes.

The natural wool is hand-spun and coloured with vegetable dyes, and Afghan knotters tied it by hand to a medium-low pile of 8 to 10 mm.
