About this rug

Forty-two small panels, six across and seven down, fill the field of this Tashqandi, each framed by an apricot band. Four kinds alternate: navy panels with a vase of flowers, rose panels with a pointed arch over a tree, honey-gold panels with a leafy branch, and royal-blue panels under a stepped arch. Honey and rose borders with small linked motifs in navy and red surround the grid, and grey-white fringes finish both ends.

The panels and borders were hand-knotted in Afghanistan in 100% natural wool, and the pile stands about 1/3 inch high. Its 197 × 147 cm grid suits a study or an entrance with some 2.6 × 2.1 m of floor, or a bedside; find it with our chobi rugs.
